The fact that our subtle energy systems, and the health and vitality of these systems has an impact at all on our overall health, sense of well-being and consciousness is getting more attention, yet this area is still so largely overlooked. Only in recent years has the AMA acknowledged the effectiveness of acupuncture and acupressure for restoring and maintaining optimum health and vitality.
Heightening our awareness of these systems that include, the meridians, radiant circuits, chakras, and bio-field, has become a passion of mine, a fascination that has rewarded me with what seems like an unending path of multidimensional adventures… a quest for understanding a deeper, more nuanced, and vital experience of life. I love how I feel after doing just a bit of Qi gong, tapping on meridian points, sitting in meditation clearing my chakras with color and light, and doing a massage or healing session that incorporates these.
If this is all new to you, it may not seem so easy at first. In order to sense these rhythms and flows, we have to slow down and feel, get into our bodies and breath. Most of us haven’t a clue as to how to do even this… It’s sometimes quite a frightening prospect. But if you take the time to really get into a quiet space and start manipulating the energy with your imagination, your breath, slow movements using your hands… to feel, connect, you will connect to this subtle life force that is in all things, giving us life and consciousness. When you start to feel its flow, you will begin to feel where its stuck, where it’s heavy and where there may be some emotion attached. This stuck energy is blocking the flow of life force, and may be the reason that you don’t feel so hot all the time. Where there is an interruption of the flow of life force energy, we invite the opportunity for disease. So when we can get this energy unstuck, we not only mobilize forces supporting physical health, but emotional, mental and spiritual health as well.
So what it is it that helps us move this subtle life force energy and keep a balanced flow? Movement… walking in fresh air and sunshine, Qi gong, Tai chi, bodywork and energy work, acupuncture, and acupressure, EFT or meridian tapping, meditation, using imagery, sound and color. Everything we do, eat, breathe, think and feel effects our subtle energy and its flow.
So if you start to pay attention and take the time to decongest, let go, have bodywork, start a tapping routine and move however it feels best, you will be rewarded with the wonderful health producing effects of a good flow. Find a good practitioner in one of the aforementioned fields to help you get started. It may be easier than you think.
Bon voyage… Om Shanti!
